Learning this Week:
Writing: We are further investigating elements of personal narratives by reading the mentor text, Fireflies. Students are continuing to work on final drafts and peer revise. Students that have completed final drafts are working on a scholastic writing contest and others will start to journal.
Math: We will wrap up Topic 2 this week and test on Friday. Students will be starting their new math center, WAM (writing about math) where they will be writing math explanations.
ELA: This week we will focus on character motivation as well as how characters change over time. In addition, students will be introduced to "Reading Letters" and will be expected to start their first reading letter which includes their thinking and evidence from the text in letter format.
Science/ Social Studies: We will begin our science topic of "landforms." Students will be able to identify the different types of landforms as well as describe what a landform is.
