Learning this Week:
Writing: We will learn how to revise and edit our work in pairs. Students will be expected to have a finished draft by Wednesday and peer edit by Thursday. Students will learn how to use a checklist to make sure they have all elements of a personal narrative in their writing. We should have final copies completed by Friday.
Math: We will continue with Topic 2- Students are learning how to add and subtract multi-digit numbers. We will practice using different math strategies to solve as well as discuss the criteria for writing a math response.
ELA: We will continue to use sticky notes in reading through our class read aloud, Out of My Mind. Students will practice using evidence from the story to defend their thinking about character traits and theme. Late in the week, we will be discussing character motivation and feelings.
S.S/Science: We will explore two inquiry-based science lessons and students will be expected to understand and use the scientific method.
