Learning this Week: 
Writing: We will be practicing typing more frequently as we prepare for MCAS. Students will be typing quick writes, opinion writing, and vocabulary words. Students will be learning about the 6 different text structures and how to identify them when they read (for example: Problem/Solution Structure...this type of article will focus on a problem and way we can solve it)
Math: Students will be testing on Topic 8 (Fraction Equivalence) by the end of the week. We will be reviewing how to make equivalent fractions, as well as review the different strategies we can use to compare fractions with like and unlike denominators.
ELA: We will hopefully wrap up our immigration unit this week. Students will finish typing and researching our essential questions about immigration and start creating their informational book. This book will include elements of informational texts, such as bold words, glossary, table of contents, etc.
Science: Students will complete a lab with sand to review landforms, weathering, and erosion.
