Turkey Disguise- Monday 11/19

Learning this Week:
Writing: Students will begin looking at example opinion/persuasive writings. Together, we will notice the elements of opinion writing. We will begin our writing for our turkey disguise by brainstorming ideas as a class. Students will also be introduced to Vocabulary #20 words and be expected to use them in writing.
Math: Students have just taken their online topic 3 Assessment and we will begin topic 4 (Multiplying 2-Digit Numbers). We will be rounding, estimating, and use different methods to multiply.
ELA: We will be focusing on the setting in stories. Students will be able to infer the importance of setting in realistic, historical fiction, and fantasy. Students will also be able to decipher when the setting affects a character's behavior.
Science: We will end our unit on landforms by focusing on earthquakes and volcanoes. Students will be able to understand how they are formed and the effect they have on earth and people.
