Learning this Week:

Math: Students will be finishing up decimal notation and complete the Topic 12 online assessment. We will also be taking out middle of year math assessment, including Topic 1-12. This week's learning will include the start of Topic 13: Units of Measurement. Students will be practicing converting units in both the customary and metric systems. 

Science: Students have researched and investigated the different life cycles of animals, including insect metamorphosis. This week we will be classifying animals by their characteristics. We will comparing and contrasting living organisms.

Learning this Week:

Math: Students will begin Topic 11 (Line Plots). We will be analyzing data on line plots to the nearest fraction and pay attention to outliers. Students will be making their own line plots to display data at the end of the week. In addition, we will begin integrating geometry to the center rotations. 

Science: We will be wrapping up our unit on natural resources (renewable/ nonrenewable). Students will complete two online labs as well as a few activities to show their understanding of the ways we use natural resources as a source of energy.
