Hello!

Reminders for the Week:
Read 25 mins. each night
Daily math sheet

Learning this Week:
Math: We are currently in Topic 8 (Fraction Equivalence). Students are demonstrating their understanding of fractions by creating number lines, fraction models, and using multiplication or division.

Science: We will be reading and discussing the different types of volcanoes and the factors that determine the way a volcano erupts. Students will be mapping volcanoes around the world to look for patterns and learn about the Ring of Fire.

Week of 1/16

Good evening!

Reminders for the Week:
Read 25 mins. each night
Daily math sheet

Learning this Week:

Math: We will be starting Topic 8 (Fraction Equivalence). Students will identify equivalent fractions by using area models, number lines, and multiplication. We will focus on math practice #4 (modeling with mathematics) and #5 (use tools strategically).

S.S/ Science: Students will conclude learning about the U.S. Regions by participating in a gallery walk. This will allow everyone to showcase their hard work (investigation posters) and learn more about each of the U.S. regions. In science, we will continue our learning about different types of volcanoes. Students will be analyzing different volcanoes around the world and make bar graphs based on volcanoes in Alaska.
